According to a recent report by the "Nihon Keizai Shimbun", a joint team of Japan Defense Medical University and Osaka University found in a genome-wide association analysis that maintaining the habit of drinking coffee will help reduce the risk of gout. The research team conducted an association study between coffee drinking habits and gout risk in more than 150000 people, and found that long-term coffee drinking can help alleviate the incidence of gout, and believes that in the future, through the analysis of coffee components, it may be possible to uncover the mechanism of gout. Causes and prevention methods.

As we all know, the uric acid in the blood rises, and a large amount of uric acid reaches the joints of the human body with the blood circulation, which directly leads to gout. The caffeine contained in coffee is converted to purines, causing uric acid to rise. Therefore, in theory, gout patients can not drink coffee. However, surprisingly, a number of studies at home and abroad have proved that coffee is beneficial to the prevention of gout, but there is a lack of relevant statistical analysis and data support.
This time, through genome-wide association analysis, the research team conducted a study on three values of more than 150000 subjects, including the number of times of drinking coffee per week, the urea index and the risk of gout, and listed the number of times of drinking coffee per week from 0 to 7 times as eight. It was found that for every extra day of drinking coffee in a week, the risk of gout could be reduced by about 25%. How many times a day and how much coffee you drink are not taken into account. Professor Yoshio Matsuo of the Defense Medical University said: "The behavior of drinking coffee did not affect the level of uric acid, but the risk of gout onset showed a downward trend."
Studies have shown that coffee, as a natural alkaline drink, is not only beneficial to maintain the acid-base balance in the body, but also plays an important role in the prevention and treatment of gout.
