Beijing time at 9: 4 on September 23 will usher in the autumnal equinox solar term. On the autumn equinox, the sun reached 180 degrees of the yellow longitude. Dong Zhongshu said in "Spring and Autumn Fanlu": "The autumn equinox is half yin and yang, so day and night are both cold and summer."
In order to carry forward the culture of health preservation and disease prevention of traditional Chinese medicine, and let the public understand and master the knowledge of solar term health preservation, Tianjin University of traditional Chinese medicine invited Huang Wenzheng, a famous Chinese medicine nephrologist, to talk about "autumn equinox solar term and health preservation".
The autumnal equinox is the time when "the summer recedes and the autumn becomes cool, and the sun and the night are both long". After that, the potential of yin and yang really changes. Yin and qi are flourishing and yang are declining. In terms of climate, the temperature decreases and the temperature difference between day and night increases.
Correspondingly, the human body Yang also tends to be introverted, so it is easy to present a state of "autumn lack. Based on this, Professor Huang Wenzheng proposed that the autumnal equinox health should take precautions, re-nourishing yin and moistening dryness, tonifying the lungs and kidneys.
Take precautions
Professor Huang Wenzheng pointed out that traditional Chinese medicine believes that the lung is delicate and dirty, with fur on the outside and opening the nose. Therefore, external pathogens often invade the lung from the fur, mouth and nose, and then cause other visceral lesions. And the lungs like to run evil dry, easy to dry evil hurt. After the autumnal equinox, the dryness is more abundant, and the temperature drops obviously, so the dryness is easy to combine with the cold. If the qi of coldness and dryness is too much, or the qi and yin deficiency of the body lung can not adapt to climate change, it is easy to have colds, coughs and other upper respiratory tract infections, often manifested as headache, body heat, aversion to cold without sweat, and accompanied by dry lips and dry pharynx, dry cough and other "cool dryness" symptoms. The upper sense is the inducement of diseases such as nephritis, and it is also the aggravating factor of various basic diseases. Therefore, after the autumnal equinox, the elderly and children should pay more attention to prevent problems before they occur, so as to avoid new diseases caused by upper feelings, or aggravate diseases such as chronic nephritis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
nourishing yin and moistening dryness
The water began to dry up after the autumnal equinox. Professor Huang Wenzheng emphasized that as the temperature drops, the earth's atmosphere converses and the phenology becomes increasingly dry. At this time, it should conform to the transformation of yin and yang in nature and follow the basic principle of "nourishing yin in autumn and winter. The diet is mainly nourishing yin and moistening dryness to reduce the adverse effects of climate change on the body. You can eat more sesame, sash, glutinous rice, lotus root, mushrooms, wax gourd, Sydney, sugar cane, water chestnuts, grapefruit, etc., to play the effect of nourishing yin and moistening dryness. For the elderly, after bathing, you should apply a moisturizing cream to avoid skin itching because the skin is too dry. In addition, it should be noted that sometimes when the throat is dry and the mouth is dry, the lips are chapped, the skin is desquamated, and the symptoms such as chills, soreness of waist and knees, and unfavorable urination are seen, it may be caused by the evil of cold and dryness that hinders the condensation of kidney and yin. Instead, it should be combined with pungent and warm products in the warm medicine to remove cold in the kidney, so that body fluid can play the effect of moistening and dryness.
Tonifying Lung and Kidney
Professor Huang Wenzheng advocated that after the autumnal equinox should be tonifying the lungs and kidneys. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the lungs and kidneys are closely related to the respiratory function of the human body. "The lung is the master of qi, the kidney is the root of qi, the lung is the master of qi, the kidney is the master of qi, yin and yang intersect, and breathing is the same." Can implement "invigorating qi law" tonifying lung and kidney. Breathe full air with your nose and then close your breath. At the same time, bite your teeth and fasten your toes to the ground until you can't stand it, and then exhale 18 times. The breath-holding method can enhance cardiopulmonary function, help protect kidney qi, and reduce the feeling of "autumn fatigue. However, the practice of the "breath-holding method" should be gradual and not rash. After the autumnal equinox, people with insufficient lung yin can increase the intake of sour food, or choose drugs with sour taste such as schisandra chinensis and peony to reduce lung qi, so as to avoid cough and other symptoms caused by too much lung qi.
